Thu 30 Mar 23 - Port Lincoln
12 to 21 Deg today. It was overcast early, but cleared to a party cloudy day with light westerly winds, turning into a great day for exploring the Whalers Way near Port Lincoln. We left at 0900 for the 43 km drive to the property entrance then over the next 5 hours, we drove along about another 35 km of tracks (about 14km each way with some shorter side tracks) along the rugged coastline to steep cliffs, blowholes, crevasses, caves and golden beaches. Whalers Way was named after the whaling industry that once thrived along the coast there. It’s located on privately owned land and offers some spectacular views. At a cost of $40 for access ($35 for concession through the Visitor Information Centre), it was definitely worth the cost. Although advice is that the park is accessible by 2WD, many roads were very rocky and rough, and in need of repair. Returning home to the caravan at about 1600, it was another memorable day with some incredible scenery, shared with our caravan park neighbours. I am very tired though, so tonight I'll let the photos do the talking. Tomorrow we continue our journey west along the coast to Elliston for a three night stay.
