Fri 10 Mar 23 - Adelaide
Minimum of 12 Deg overnight reaching 26 Deg by 1600. A clear blue sky, no wind - just a wonderful day; the best day weather-wise we've had for weeks. After my morning walk around the show grounds precinct and along the local streets, followed by breakfast, we walked the short distance to catch a tram to Glenelg. Another latish start to the day meant another latish morning coffee on arrival, and thankfully it was another very good brew delivered. Sitting outside the cafe in the warm sunshine in Moseley Square, watching the world go by was very relaxing. Afterwards, we ventured into the Town Hall Museum for a look around, then wandered out on to the pier and and around town. It wasn’t long before we were feeling peckish and grabbed some food to eat down on the foreshore under the large pine trees overlooking the beach. After 4 hours we headed back to the van to pack away a few things for our departure tomorrow, then I went out and refueled the ute. With some time to kill at 1600, I climbed on the bike for a lap around the city along the Park Lands Cycle Trail. It was a very enjoyable 18km ride which passed through the Adelaide Cemetery with a neat and well maintained Commonwealth War Graves Section which I stopped at for a look around. Nearer to the city, there were a lot of cycle path closures / detours due to the current Adelaide Festival, but it wasn’t too hard to find my way around and back to the van again. On one hand I would have liked to have seen some of the Adelaide Festival entertainment, but on the other hand, we weren't interested in mixing with the large crowds. Dinner tonight we across the road at the Goodwood (Goody) Hotel, and our meals were both tasty and plentiful; a nice way to end our stay in Adelaide. We've enjoyed Adelaide, but we've left plenty to come back and see on another visit. Tomorrow, we set off to the Barossa for four nights 🍷🍷🍷🍷.
