Day 34: Sat 18 Mar 23 - Edithburgh

Sat 18 Mar 23 - Edithburgh

18 to 26 Deg. It was still 24 Deg at midnight with strong winds arriving at 2300. The temperature eventually dropped to 18 Deg by 0600, becoming another glorious clear sunny day with little wind. We woke feeling very sluggish today, and happy with our decision to have a quiet day. We will save the Innes National Park at the very southern tip of the Yorke Peninsula, as well as a few other places of interest, for a future trip to the Yorke.  Apart from a short return ride along the Walk the Yorke trail to Sultana Point, and a couple of walks into town and along the Jetty, we had a very quiet and relaxing day. It was nice chatting to David (nickname Hightower due to his size - a massive man) and his lovely partner throughout the day as they went about renovating an onsite van that they recently purchased. He has a lot of work ahead of him due to its poor condition, but he seems very capable. We look forward to seeing photos of their progress which he has undertaken to send us. Tomorrow we only have a short drive north to Wallaroo on the west coast of the Yorke Peninsula for another three day stay. As I write, the wind has picked up again, and it's gusting so strong that it feels like the roof is about to be lifted off the caravan. I'm glad I've already packed away the awning for our departure tomorrow.
